Dear Mr. Donald J. Trump, President of our beloved friend, the United States of America,
October 7, 2023, was horrific and goes against the principles of Islam, especially in terms of attacking civilians and taking hostages in Gaza. However, the courageous people of Gaza have the right to defend themselves against genocide carried out by the occupying forces of the IDF—unfortunately, with the official support of the U.S. government.
I am a proud Monofeya-born Egyptian engineer, who graduated from Alexandria in 2006 and is pro-U.S. (the beloved people all the time, and the government sometimes). I have been campaigning since 2018 to run for the head position نقيب المهندسين of the Syndicate of Engineers in the 2026 elections.
Displacing people from Gaza to Egypt or elsewhere won’t make America great again. Not only because we will never accept the displacement, and the Palestinians will never leave, but because you, Sir, and your trusted Republican Party advisors (with the help of pro-U.S. Democrats, not pro-Israel) will eventually realize—sooner (hopefully) or later—a simple fact.

Egyptians and well-intentioned Israelis still hope that you, as the American president, will push for peace in the region in the best interest of the United States. Smart young Americans recognize that their government is risking another 9/11 by providing $17.9 billion in security assistance to Israel in 2024—funded by their hard-earned tax dollars—to kill innocent people in occupied territories while simultaneously losing countless opportunities, including business and commercial ones that could strengthen the American economy, healthcare, law enforcement, and other vital sectors—rather than benefiting Netanyahu and a small group that claims to represent right-wing Israelis.
Dear President Trump,
I am the son of an Egyptian military officer who fought (A.K.A. Mujahid) against Israel in 1973, when we won the battle to liberate Sinai after the Israelis occupied it on June 5, 1967. Israel is the only country in the world without defined borders. One of Israel’s founders once said, "Our borders end at the point where an Israeli soldier can stand." If you help Netanyahu at Egypt’s expense, you will lose—while Netanyahu and those like him will not hesitate to seize your own beautiful country for their agenda (if they haven’t already, unfortunately).
I worked for the United Nations as a social media consultant, and your esteemed administration knows better than I do how some Israeli officials, like Netanyahu, are merely criminal troublemakers serving their own interests—not even the interests of ordinary Israeli citizens (i.e. Jonathan Jay Pollard, the former American intelligence analyst who was jailed for spying for Israel).
On June 30th, 2013, I took to the streets of Cairo with tens of millions of others who demanded the removal of Dr. Morsi from office because he was the only Egyptian president who publicly hinted he might accept displacing the people of Gaza by saying Egypt simply wouldn't allow them to own land (after mentioning the economic and financial burdens of supporting Palestine and Gaza)
The public hint by Dr. Morsi was aired on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 (Jumada II 9th, 1434 AH) in an Al Jazeera TV interview. Within the same week, the Tamarod (Arabic for 'Rebel') movement began its work by announcing 8 demands, half of which were practically pro-Palestine. One of them explicitly criticized the late President Dr. Morsi for being a 'follower of America' by, clearly, acting against our interests, values, and longstanding support for Palestine:
Egyptians began a public gathering in Tahrir Square on May 1st to collect signatures for withdrawing confidence from President Mohamed Morsi and calling for early presidential elections on June 30th, to be supervised by the head of the Supreme Constitutional Court.
On July 3rd, 2013, our beloved Egyptian army heard our chants from June 30th, and its leadership (headed by our beloved Minister of Defense Abdel Fattah el-Sisi) met with our very own H.H. Pope Tawadros II, the beloved Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church, and Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, our beloved Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, among others, to agree on appointing an interim president, our beloved Mr. Adly Mansour, a senior judge at our esteemed top court, the Supreme Constitutional Court.
We didn’t actually revolt on June 30th, 2013 because of human rights violations during the Morsi presidency, as we had been reading about such minor and rare cases in the newspapers for decades, just like in any other country. We didn’t actually revolt because of our beloved Christian citizens, who were sometimes, just like Muslims, denied their basic rights, as almost everyone had been experiencing such violations for decades under Hosni Mubarak’s rule, since the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood (e.g., limiting interest-free loans in the engineers' syndicate to their members and supporters) and its affiliates, like the Salafi Call in Alexandria.
We didn’t actually revolt because of the low supply of fuel and electricity or the rising prices of food (and other commodities), as we, just like our beloved sisters and brothers in Gaza, had been suffering from such challenges for decades—mainly before the October 1973 victory, but somehow after Sadat assassination as well.
Dear President Trump,
Egyptians are not happy with the continuation of U.S. policy against the people of Gaza and even against us as well. To be honest, some Egyptians are actually happy because Coptic Orthodox Christians, inspired by the likes of Saint Dimiana and the 40 virgins, might resume their martyrdom in defense of Christ’s Church, which is part of our constitution as one of our beloved Armed Forces' responsibilities.
Muslims might pursue Jihad, which is also part of our constitution as one of our beloved Armed Forces' responsibilities. Meanwhile, others (e.g., non-believers, feminists, LGBTQs, Baha’is, most non-ranking members of the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafi Call groups, etc) have a genuine love for Egypt as part of our DNA, regardless of religion, belief or sexual orientation.
I am not writing to you because I represent over 66,000 Egyptian engineers or because, since 2018, I have founded two active, on-the-ground initiatives that the U.S. Embassy here (though I met one of its diplomats last year) and the U.S. State Department in Washington are unaware of— even though we reach hundreds of thousands of social media users and have been mentioned 10+ times in daily newspapers like Al-Akhbar, Shorouk, and Al-Masry Al-Youm, as well as news portals like Sada El-Balad.
My first initiative involves Egyptian engineers lobbying for an amendment to our constitution that would specifically allow, by name, our beloved President, Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi—whom we, along with our spouses, children, fathers, and mothers, are willing to sacrifice our lives and blood for—to run in the 2030 presidential elections for his fourth and final term, lasting until 2036. We are 100% independent Egyptian engineers who are not connected to or supported by our beloved government, our beloved syndicate’s current administration, their affiliates, or anyone else.
My second initiative, “Friends of Egypt, USA & the World,” advocates for the United States of America here in the region by dismantling the anti-Islam (and anti-US) ideology of groups like the so-called Muslim Brotherhood and its allies, such as the so-called Salafi Call in Alexandria.
I’m writing to you, Sir, because I’m concerned that your insistence on displacing people in Gaza could trigger another October 7th—this time, within the United States. God forbid, it could resemble something like the 9/11 attacks, but with one small yet dangerous difference: this time, it will be entirely orchestrated and carried out by young, native, non-Muslim U.S. citizens. I will provide more details in an upcoming letter, including an Egyptian plan to prevent another 9/11
